What are the symptoms of liver cirrhosis how did I get there and how did I feel?  Part 2.  I might add from Part 1, that the adverse affects of the excess alcohol consumption also affected my relationship with my wife and family, which has since changed dramatically for the good when I stopped drinking.  Jaundice, yellowing of the skin, showed up early on and was difficult to detect without the trained eye of a specialist.  It actually looked like a tan.  When the disease was at its’ severest, I had rapid weight gains, and sever swelling around the face, legs, ankles, feet and belly, which is called ascites.  Definitely not a pretty sight.  I also found that my energy levels were disappearing at a rapid pace.  These symptoms occurred in November and December.  I finally decided, it was time to get help.  I did stop drinking on December 1.  Part 3 is in the next blog.
